Dalmatia

Dalmatia or the Southern Croatian coast stretches along approximately 400 km of the Adriatic Sea. The capital city of the region is Split.

Dalmatia abounds with rich natural diversity. This includes mountain ranges, beaches, shallow and open seas, wild rapids and peaceful river beds, the most beautiful islands of the Mediterranean, deep lakes and the unexplored riches of underground caves.

The climate is Mediterranean, and so is the cuisine.

The delicious Dalmatian cuisine meets all nutritionist recommendations for a healthy diet because of the ingredients and way in which it is prepared.

When in Dalmatia, we recommend that you try various types of fresh fish, shellfish and crayfish, octopus, squid and cuttlefish, olives, Dalmatian prosciutto and lamb baked á la peka (under an iron bell). Wine is also a must with any dish, both red and white.

Thanks to its natural beauty, hospitable people and superb food, Dalmatia has a tourist tradition that stretches back many centuries.
