Birthplace of a world renown explorer and merchant Marco Polo, Korčula will easily win you over. Experience its authentic Mediterranean charm, preserved by a unique island way of living.

A journey through time

Korčula is an island in southern Dalmatia, known for its well-preserved medieval town and long history. The town of Korčula is surrounded by stone walls and has a unique street layout in the shape of a fishbone, designed to protect from strong winds. It is often linked to the explorer Marco Polo, and a small museum in the town tells his story.

The island is also known for local wine production, especially varieties like Grk and Pošip. Traditional customs such as the Moreska sword dance are still performed today. Korčula combines cultural heritage and a relaxed island atmosphere.
