Weather on Brač: what’s the climate like and how high are the temperatures?

Like most of the Croatian coast, the island of Brač is characterised by a pleasant Mediterranean climate perfect for holidays and an active break. For those who plan their holidays around it, it will be an important fact that Brač is one of the sunniest parts of Croatia.
Pleasant spring weather for an active holiday

The pleasant and sunny weather on Brač begins somewhere around March, when the temperatures can rise up to around 20 degrees. The whole of spring is usually pleasant with a large number of hours of sunshine, and at the end of May, the temperatures sometimes cross that ‘’magical border’’ of 30 degrees. However, that’s more of an exception than it is a rule.

Spring on Brač is the most ideal time for active tourists who enjoy recreation and sport. The weather is excellent for biking, mountain climbing (the highest peak of the Adriatic archipelago, Vidova gora, 780m, is found on the island), or, as Bol on Brač is known for, playing tennis..

The hot summer for swimming and tanning lovers

Summers are sunny and hot, and the temperatures during the day in summer are usually above 30 degrees. Those who enjoy swimming and tanning in a warm sea will be at home on Brač in summer.

Brač is among the areas with the most hours of sunshine in the whole country, with around 2700 hours per year

As far as the wind is concerned, sometimes a soft breeze called maestral can bring refreshment during the day, while during the evening, a pleasant wind can blow from Brač’s mountains.

Autumn also brings with it come great weather as over the last few years, the summer temperatures are lasting longer and longer. Owing to that, swimming in the sea is possible even during a good part of autumn as the temperatures of the air and the sea are often above 20 degrees. The sea needs a long time to cool down from the summer, so autumn swimming in the sea is more than pleasant.

Swimming on Zlatni rat (Golden horn) without problems is possible even in October

Our recommendation is that you come to Brač between spring and autumn, depending on your preferences. In any case, you’ll enjoy it!
