Mostar, nestled in a deep valley along the Neretva River, is famed for its iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge), a 16th-century architectural marvel commissioned by Suleiman the Magnificent and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The city’s name comes from “mostari,” meaning bridge keepers, reflecting its historical role as a crossroads of cultures and religions, where mosques, churches, and synagogues stand side by side.
